Good News! FG Sets Up It Innovation Centre In Abuja

The federal government has inaugurated a N700 million government contact centre in Abuja to boost ease of doing business through technological innovations and information dissemination.
The minister of communications, Adebayo Shittu who inaugurated the centre said the platform would create job opportunities and a turn around to the Nigeria’s ailing economy.A
His words: “The centre is essentially a technology-enabled multi-channel and multi-lingual platform developed to improve accessibility to government services and information by interested parties.
“This robust platform presents citizens and interested stakeholders with an avenue to obtain information or provide feedback to government MDAs (Ministries, Departments, and Agencies).
“It also provides access to services via telephone (in Hausa, Igbo, Yoruba, English and pidgin. Other languages can be incorporated subsequently) email, chat, and social media).”
The minister further stated that all federal agencies and parastatals would key into the platform when it becomes fully operational, and that service delivery and performances of MDAs would be monitored through the system in conjunction with SERVICOM.
Meanwhile, the federal government has said it will establish an Information Communication Technology (ICT) University in the first quarter of 2017.
This was disclosed by Shittu on Monday, December 26 in Abuja, when he featured at a News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) Forum.
